Gumball Toestops

Gumball Toe Stops are designed and made specifically with roller derby in mind. Not like other brands that wear down in a few weeks of turnaround toestops or that crumble around the stem. Made with all natural rubber and an aluminum stem (to reduce weight), Gumball Toe Stops have the perfect balance of grip and durability necessary for quick stops and fast starts. Gumball Toe Stops are great for all types of skating surfaces including wood, sport tile, polished and unpolished concrete, masonite, banked tracks and outdoor. Gumball Toe Stops are available in two stem lengths, Standard 30mm or Mini/Short 17mm. Romo says if you have a nylon or Triton plate or other model that does not have an allen screw to help hold your toestop in, your should probably go with the standard length so you have more stem to screw in and keep your toestops in place. If you have a DynaPro (the plate that comes on the Wickeds) or other plate with an allen screw, it is up to you. Romo uses the standard length and prefers her toestops to be 2 fingers stacked away from the ground (we'll try to post a picture soon of this). The downside is if you like your toestop high, the standard length stem can actually screw in so far that it pushes against the bottom of your boot and pull it away from your plate. So if you like them high, used to be a jam skater and are used to plugs, etc., go for the short stem. You can always use a little bit of (blue) Locktite to keep them in place.
